Description ABOUT How We Got Started Everyone deserves to be on a team with great friends, teammates, and coaches. Three sisters, Ashley, Andrea, and Miranda, started Adaptive Arena in 2023. They had the vision to unite people of all abilities as a supportive team and empower one another to lead active, fulfilling lives. Jensen, a nephew of the founders, played a big part in inspiring them to build Adaptive Arena. Jensen has autism, and one of his favorite things to do is play baseball. Games are often canceled due to the ever-changing weather in Utah, and field space is competitive to reserve and use. With love for their nephew and concern for others like him, it was decided to build a climate-controlled environment that provides a fun and safe place to play sports indoors. The three combined their strengths learned from experience creating youth sports leagues and tournaments, business acumen, education, and of course motherhood, to build a unique gym for adaptive sports. Growing up in a competitive household and being big sports enthusiasts, Ashley, Andrea, and Miranda wanted to see everyone be given the opportunity to belong to a team. Discipline, hard work, commitment, cheering on others, and learning how to lose or win gracefully are all lessons we learn in sports. And now, the athletes at Adaptive Arena are learning these same valuable lessons, all while having a lot of fun! OUR CORE VALUES Inclusivity We believe in an environment where everyone, regardless of their physical abilities, can be part of a close-knit team. Inclusion is at the heart of everything we do. Teamwork We promote the value of teamwork by teaching our members how to collaborate, communicate, and support each other both inside and outside the gym. Empowerment We empower individuals with disabilities to realize their potential as not just athletes but as strong team players, leaders, and role models. Community We foster a tight-knit community where members share their journeys, celebrate achievements, lift each other up, and create lasting friendships. Education We prioritize education regarding adaptive sports, teamwork, and disability awareness to ensure that our members and staff are informed advocates for inclusivity.
